A convicted sex offender has pleaded guilty after failing to update his registration as a sex offender.

Shannon Lee Callahan, a Minnesota man, was sentenced to a five-year probation term after pleading guilty to two counts of criminal sexual conduct in Dakota County, Minnesota in 1992.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Callahan moved from Minnesota to Big Lake, Texas in May 2013, but never registered as a sex offender in Texas. He did not inform any authorities in Minnesota that he had left his Minnesota residence and had moved to Texas.

He faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
