One person is in police custody after reportedly robbing a man at a local bank early Tuesday morning.

Lubbock Police were called to the First Bank and Trust at 78th Street and Indiana Avenue at around 2 a.m. Tuesday.

A suspect reportedly approached a victim that was using the after-hours deposit box and demanded money while pointing a gun at the victim.

Police Corporal Fair located the suspect in the alley in the 3500 block of 78th Street and took him into custody one block over, as the suspect attempted to flee from the scene on foot.

The officer found a bag of money and an airsoft pistol that the suspect reportedly attempted to discard while running.

Thirty-four year-old Henry Clay Smith was arrested and taken to the Lubbock County Jail.

Smith has been charged with Aggravated Robbery and is being held on $250,000 bond.
