On the Tuesday edition of The Chad Hasty Show, Delwin Jones spoke with guest host Paul R. Beane about his run for State Senate District 28.

Jones surprised many earlier this month when he announced his run for the State Senate seat vacated by former senator and new Texas Tech Chancellor Robert Duncan. He explained that his name recognition across District 28 would give him a big advantage over his opponents. He added that the decision to move the State Senate special election to September may also help his chances, though he added he was disappointed it would cost taxpayers an addition $3 million to do so.

Jones also responded to a listener's question concerning the rise in illegal immigration. Jones stated that the immigration rise was an "organized attempt" to invade the U.S, and that these illegal immigrants should be detained and sent back to their country. Jones also discussed what he thinks will be the big issues going in to the next state legislative session.
