On Monday's edition of The Chad Hasty Show on KFYO, GOP strategist Matt Mackowiak joined Chad to talk about last week's election and it's fallout.

Mackowiak discussed what went wrong for the Democrats in the election, and on the momentous loss of Democratic Gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis. He said that the loss was not due entirely to President Obama's unpopularity.

The Democrats and Wendy Davis' campaign want to blame it on the anti-Obama wave, but look I think if Obama's numbers were more in the mid forties to high forties, she still would have lost by probably 15-16 points. So I think the wave probably caused it to go from being a a Bill White type performance of around 42-43 percent to a essentially a Tony Sanchez performance of around 39 percent.

Mackowiak also discussed other impacts the election will have on Texas politics over the next few months, as well as the new leadership of the GOP in the U.S. Senate.
