A Brownwood man has admitted to enticing a minor child to engage in sexual activity.

Luis Gerardo Alvarado pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of enticement of a minor and aiding and abetting.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the 22-year-old Alvarado met a minor female who lived in Coleman County by contacting her through Facebook chat.

He continued to communicate with her and attempted to persuade her to engage in sexual activity with him, knowing that the girl was under 17 years old.

Alvarado, who is in police custody, faces no less than ten years and up to life in federal prison, a $250,000 fine, and a lifetime of supervised release.
