A South Plains man has been indicted on child pornography charges.

Twenty-year-old Anthony Zane Austin of Childress has been indicted on one count of receiving child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, the indictment alleges that between August 21st, 2011 and February 10th, 2012, Austin received a depiction of child pornography via the internet, and that he reportedly possessed a thumb drive that contained at least one image of child pornography in April of 2012.

Austin is expected to surrender to federal authorities prior to his first appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Clinton Averitte on September 20th, 2012.

If convicted, Austin faces up to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and a lifetime of supervised release for the receipt count, and up to 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and a lifetime of supervised release for conviction of the possession count.
