Lubbock authorities are investigating a report of a suspicious green van a woman says was following her during the morning hours of Saturday, Jan. 16.

The woman, who was visiting Lubbock from Dallas, told police she first noticed the van following her on Saturday at about 5:25 a.m. while she was at a gas station.

To confirm that the van was following her, she drove around before going back to the hotel she was staying at, and there the van was, parked in the parking lot. The woman told police she was so scared that she couldn’t leave her car out of fear.

In a final effort to lose the van, she says she drove around again, but this time someone inside the van open fired multiple shots at her vehicle while in the 4800 block of Avenue Q.

LPD investigators say that another witness confirms that they heard gunshots in the area while walking outside, and that they also saw a green van like the one the woman described leaving the area.

However, police have not been able to find any shell casings, nor have they found any damage caused bullets. The case is still under investigation and no suspects at this time have been publicly identified.
