Wayne Christian, who is running for the Republican nomination for Texas Railroad Commissioner in the 2014 Primary, spoke with Robert Pratt on Monday's edition of Pratt on Texas.

They discussed Mr. Christian’s recent wins in polls and his conservative stances which had given him a reputation for standing up to the establishment during his time in the Texas House.

Mr. Christian was a member of the Texas House from 1997-2005 and again in 2007 until his district was drawn out during the redistricting fight in 2012 and he lost the primary in the newly combined district.

Mr. Christian talked about the effort by Democrats to “turn Texas blue”.

With the Railroad Commissioner’s responsibilities in oil and gas regulation, Mr. Christian talked about the United States’ dependency on foreign oil and the attacks here at home on fossil fuel production.
