This weekend Lubbock will be flooded by visitors as Texas Tech holds graduation ceremonies. If you are visiting to Lubbock, you are here at the right time as Lubbock has seen a boom in growth both in population and new businesses. Whether you are here for someone's graduation, here for business, or here for pleasure Lubbock has many great local places to eat. Below are some of my favorite places in Lubbock, many of which would be great to go to after graduation with a large group or just a few people.

    Italian Garden

Italian Garden in Downtown Lubbock is one of my favorite restaurants and has developed a loyal following. Great food in a relaxed atmosphere is what you will experience at Italian Garden. This restaurant is BYOB which I think is awesome. Bring your favorite bottle of wine or cans of beer and enjoy the food. A warning though, Italian Garden typically does not take reservations. Get there early or prepare to wait. It will be worth it though.

    Crafthouse Gastropub

The Crafthouse Gastropub is another local favorite. With a menu that changes with the seasons, there is always something new to expect. If you are a fan of beer, Crafthouse is one of those places that you will enjoy. You will find a diverse menu with items ranging from burgers to oysters to lamb chops all with a special Crafthouse flair. This is another establishment that does not accept reservations, but with a large bar area the wait goes by quickly.

    Las Brisas

Looking for a great steak? Looking for great seafood? Welcome to Las Brisas. Located in Southwest Lubbock, Las Brisas has earned a great reputation as a go to place for celebrations for large or small parties. Not only does Las Brisas have great food, but it has one of the top wine list in Lubbock. The atmosphere may be a little more upscale than most Lubbock establishments, but it doesn't come across that way.

    The Funky Door

Speaking of wine. Are you in the mood to try a bunch of different wines while listening to music during dinner? If so, the Funky Door Bistro and Wine Room is for you. This is a great place to celebrate after graduation with friends and family. You can choose from over 48 different wines that are dispensed from tasting machines. You can choose to taste a wine, have half a glass, or a full glass. It's a great opportunity to try something new and no where else in Lubbock can you find something like this. The food is also great from their steak to the crowd favorite fondues.

    Stella's

I had to put another Italian food restaurant on my list. Stella's is a Lubbock favorite and if you go, you'll see and taste why. Great cocktails go along with a menu that has something for everyone. The Veal Parmigiana is great and so are their pizzas. Stella's does fill up quickly so I would suggest making reservations as soon as possible.

    The Shack BBQ

Brisket, ribs, and sausage. Oh yes, if you are in the mood for some great BBQ, head out to The Shack. A great place for lunch or a laid back dinner, you won't leave disappointed. I am a big fan of brisket and ribs, and I haven't been let down by The Shack yet. They are are open until 8pm, but they do sell-out often before then. While the building looks small from the outside, it's a trick. There is plenty of seating for a small group or even a larger party.

    The Choc'late Mousse Pie Bar

This is the place in Lubbock to get dessert. Seriously, you don't have to look anywhere else. I've been praising the Choc'late Mousse since they opened their doors and they just keep getting better. Yes, it's pie but served in many different ways and with many different flavors. Don't leave Lubbock without stopping here.
