Update: Lubbock Police Arrest Murder Suspect
Update (May 12, 8 a.m.) - Lubbock Police have charged 22-year-old Christopher Carmona for the shooting death of a victim identified now as a man named Walter Harper. According to the LPD, Carmona was arrested at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2020.
Police believe that earlier that morning, at 3:45 a.m., Carmona shot and killed Harper near the King David Trails Apartments in the 5400 block of 50th Street.
A police report states that Carmona and Harper may have gotten into an argument over seeing the same woman. According to police, the shooting in its entirety was captured on a security camera.
Carmona is currently booked in the Lubbock County Detention Center and charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Murder. He is being held on a combined $255,000 bond.
Original Story - Lubbock Police responded to a shots fired call at around 3:45 a.m. on Monday, May 11th.
Reports say that two individuals were having a dispute outside at the King David Trails Apartments, located in the 5400 block of 50th Street.
It's then said that the suspect shot at the male victim. The victim then tried to run away but the suspect fired multiple more shots, striking the victim and causing him to collapse in the 4900 block of Bangor Avenue.
The victim, whose identity remains unknown, was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect's identity has also yet to be revealed.
