In Texas, most cases of murder are solved pretty quickly when they happen. Most cases are solved by local authorities, but in some cases, members from different agencies assist in cases.

The Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Ranger assist communities throughout Texas when it comes to numerous crimes, including homicide. In fact, the Texas Rangers keep an on-going list of their top 13 cold cases. They are always hoping to get new information on cases that others have long stopped investigating.
