The Car Pro Test Drives The 2019 Ford 150 Transit Van with Explorer Conversion Package
Thursday on KFYO Mornings with Dave King and Matt Martin, The Car Pro Jerry Reynolds joined Dave and Matt to talk about his test drive of the week as well as other auto industry news.
This week Reynolds was test driving the 2019 Ford 150 Transit Van with the full Explorer Conversion Package. Jerry started the discussion by saying,
"The first surprise for me was how well this thing drove. I expected it to be like driving a school bus or perhaps a motorhome, if you've ever driven one of those, and it was nothing like that. This thing was very nimble, it had a really tight turning radius, it was easy to park, the visibility was fantastic, so it was a pleasure to drive."
The van can fit 8-9 people with 4 heated chairs in the middle, and a bench seat in the back that folds into a bed with the push of a button. It also has a 29 inch Samsung TV built into the roof that Jerry said would be fantastic for DVDs, video games, or even streaming since the van comes with wifi. It also has skylights down the sides, and a powered moonroof in the rear. The van can get 14 miles to the gallon and has a 3.5 liter v6 ecoboost engine. Reynolds also said,
"If this is something that you need, if you really like to travel, or you've got a lot of kids, or you like to camp, this thing is really great. But, again, the big thing was how it drove. That was a shock."
Jerry was overall very impressed with this vehicle, saying that he has never driven an SUV as comfortable and usable as this one. The van has an MSRP of $75,000 with the conversion.
