The Red Raiders played a strong game to finish off the Cowboys late, 45-35.

It was a team effort by Texas Tech, who put up over 580 yards of offense and forced Oklahoma State into five turnovers, including the game-clinching interception by Douglas Coleman, which was his second of the game.

In what's historically been a tight series between the two teams, the Red Raiders held the Cowboys to just 7 points in the first half, while scoring 20 of their own.

It was Texas Tech's pummeling defense that ultimately secured the win, and it started early.

In the Cowboys' very first drive, quarterback Spencer Sanders was sacked and fumbled, giving the Red Raiders the ball and leading to a field goal.

Offensively, it was Texas Tech QB Jett Duffey leading the way, with 424 yards and 4 touchdowns in the passing game. The Red Raiders also saw more than 150 yards rushing, with SoRodorick Thompson leading the pack with 69 yards.

It was the defense, though, that truly made a difference. Sure, they gave up 500+ yards and 35 points. But they also had 7 sacks, 14 tackles for loss, and 5 turnovers.

Douglas Coleman notched 7 tackles and 2 interceptions. Jordyn Brooks played sideline to sideline, finishing with 19 total tackles and an enormous forced fumble late in the game to stop an Oklahoma State drive in Texas Tech territory.

Not only was this a huge win for Texas Tech's first-year head coach Matt Wells and his program rebuild process in the theoretical momentum sense, but it will also provide dividends in the literal sense, with more than 50 recruits enjoying the game on visits today in Lubbock.

The fans, the attitude, and the outcome all help to recruit.
