Texas Tech Golf entered today second back in the Albuquerque Regional and finished the day with a dominating 10 stroke lead to win the Regional outright. Texas Tech finished the weekend at -26 as a team with Arizona State, Oregon State, Oklahoma, and San Diego moving on as the top five in the tournament.

Of course, Texas Tech was respectful enough to celebrate once everyone finished on the course, though it was wrapped up well before then.

Texas Tech Men's golf team will now head to the NCAA Championship held at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona starting on May 28th.

The Texas Tech team shot a 5-under collectively on day one to open in second place, two shots back from the lead. After day two, the Red Raiders shot 10-under to get to -15 which kept them in second place but now five shots back from the leader Oregon State.

After starting day three at 15-under, the Red Raiders went bananas, shooting 11-under getting to -26 while everyone else played closer to even. Oregon State went backward with a +4 stretching Texas Tech's lead even further.

Texas Tech outperformed every other team in the field on both Par 4's and Par 5's which contributed to their success as a team. The Red Raiders also shot 67 birdies on the week, six more than the next closest team.

Texas Tech's Ludvig Aberg lead the way with 17 of the birdies on route to a top-five individual finish shooting under par three straight days. In fact, Texas Tech was so good this weekend, only one of their 15 total rounds was over par. The other 14 scorecards were even or better.

Aberg finished tied for 4th place with a 207 total. Just two shots back from first place. Garrett Martin also finished with a top-10 finish with all five of Texas Tech's golfers finishing inside the top-21 of the field.
