Texas Tech football officially has dates for their spring practices as announced in a press release. The Red Raiders spring practice will begin on March 15th and end with the annual Spring Game at Jones AT&T Stadium on April 17th.

The team will not travel to Midland or Frisco as a part of their spring practices like they have done in the past.

The University added that fans might be able to attend some practices saying, "Texas Tech is currently exploring the feasibility of fan attendance at any of its spring practices, the annual Spring Game in particular. The athletics department will announce additional information pertaining to fan events in the weeks leading up to the start of spring practice."

The Red Raiders will get spring practice started with 15 returning starters on the team. March 15th will officially start Matt Wells's 3rd season as the Red Raiders head coach and Sonny Cumbie's first as the offensive coordinator. The list of returning players includes Tech’s leading rusher and receiver in SaRodorick Thompson and Erik Ezukanma. It doesn't include former starting QB Alan Bowman though who chose to transfer from the program last month.

Freshman quarterback Behren Morton and other new players will join the team as well, including a number of preferred walk-ons and transfers from other universities.

Texas Tech's Spring Practice schedule includes 13 practices and two scrimmages.
