I know we are still a little while away from Texas Tech baseball taking the field, but you can still be excited for the upcoming season as they look for another trip to Omaha.

Something else you can be excited about is the inaugural Round Rock Classic which will be held on February 21st through 23rd in 2020 at Dell Diamond Field in Round Rock, Texas. Dell Diamond Field also is the home field of the Round Rock Express, the Triple A affiliate of the Houston Astros.

Tech baseball will get to take part in the classic along with some really good teams that had deep runs last season.

The four teams for the 1st annual tournament will consist of the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Stanford Cardinals, Houston Cougars, and the Tennessee Volunteers. The tournament will have two games per day with each team playing the other three times in a round robin format.

This could be a great test early on for Tim Tadlock's bunch as Stanford finished with 45 wins last season. They also hosted a regional before being defeated by Mississippi State in the Super Regional. The Tennessee Volunteers were no slouch either last season, winning 40 games in the regular season before being knocked out by North Carolina in the Regional round. Houston didn't make it to the post season but put up a very respectable 32-24 record last season.
