Tom Collins and Laura Mac visited with Mike Travis a representative of South Pl;ains Honor Flight on Tuesday's edition of Lubbock's First News on News/Talk 790 KFYO.

Travis told how Veterans from  across the time frame from World War II to the Vietnam  War will leave Lubbock's Preston Smith International Airport at 6:45 Wednesday Morning to visit Washington, D.C. and to visit the different war memorials in the nation's capital.

In addition to seeing the memorials, the Honor Flight Memebers  will be hosted by House of Representative's District 19  Congressman Randy Neugebauer at the Capitol Building as well.

Travis shred how many veterans have dreamed of visiting the memorials and remembering their days spent in the service as well as remembering those who fought beside them.

Travis explained how the trips are funded by private donations as a tribute to U.S. war veterans.

Travis said a "Hero's Welcome" is planned for when the Vetereans from this flight retun to Lubbock at 9:45 pm Friday.
