The Texas South Plains Honor Flight will fly U.S. military veterans, particularly those from World War II and Korea, to Washington, D.C. for them to see monuments to their efforts and other national venues.
The film focuses on the efforts of community volunteers to raise funds for an “honor flight” and the results, as a group of World War II veterans go on an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington D.C. to see the monuments erected to honor their military achievements and efforts.
The South Plains Honor Flight pays all expenses for the veterans, so volunteers are currently working to raise almost $200,000 needed to underwrite the event.
