The oldest living United States military veteran, Mr. Richard Overton, is a native Texan over 110 years old (nearing 111 years) and still lives in his own home in Austin, Texas. The super-centenarian was born May 11, 1906, and served in the United States Army in the South Pacific from 1942 through 1945, including service on Iwo Jima.

Sadly however, the World War II veteran is now in need of 24/7 home care, and has out-lived all of his close relatives. The fundraising website Go Fund Me now has a page accepting donations to assist in allowing him to continue living in his own home, rather than spending the rest of his life in a nursing facility.

Consider joining the effort to help America's oldest surviving military veteran continue living in his own home. You may visit the Go Fund Me campaign page dedicated to Mr. Overton. The site contains much more information, along with some wonderful photographs.
