An area college will host a memorial service honoring fallen law enforcement officers later this month.

South Plains College will host its annual Law Enforcement Memorial Service at 10 a.m. April 30th, at the entrance to the college at 1401 S. College Avenue.

The event recognizes and pays tribute to the law enforcement officers whose lives were lost while serving citizens across the United States.

Larry Gilbreath, sheriff of Terry County, will deliver the keynote address. Gilbreath is a former Texas Ranger.

The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Department Honor Guard will participate and assist the SPC Honor Guard in the Service. The Lubbock Fire Marshal’s Office Honor Guards will play the bagpipes.
