South Plains College has announced the dates for the Spring 2021 semester across all campuses.

According to their press release (November 23, 2020) the spring semester will begin on January 19, 2021, and last through May 13, with graduation scheduled for May 14, 2021. The potential for a graduation ceremony will be addressed in the spring.

All SPC campuses will be closed during the week of January 4, 2021 through January 8, 2021. Students may contact the college by telephone, email, virtual appointments or online chat. All offices will be again be open for in-person needs beginning January 11, 2021.

Dr. Robin Satterwhite, president of South Plains College, advised that the primary reason for adjustments to the calendar is to compress the Spring Interim semester into a shorter time frame, and prevent any overlapping semesters which create financial aid issues.

“We will have a safer start to our semester by adding a week between the holidays and the time students arrive on campus,” Dr. Satterwhite said.
