Wednesday, May 4, people will be gathering at the entrance to South Plains College in Levelland for the annual SPC Peace Officer Memorial.

This yearly event is a tribute to all of those who have bravely served and lost their lives to a job that doesn't always get the 'thank you' it should. Ray Scifres, Sheriff – Elect of Hockley County, will address the crowd and the SPC Law Enforcement Honor Guard will perform a 21-gun salute and Taps.

The Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard and the City of Lubbock Fire Marshal’s Office Pipes and Drum Corps will also play a part in the memorial service.

The memorial will begin at 10 a.m. on May 4.
