Some future law enforcement officers will graduate next week.

South Plains College will host their 2011-12 Evening Police Academy Graduation on Tuesday, July 24th.

The event will be held at 6 p.m. in the Sundown Room in the Student Services Building on the Levelland Campus.

The Graduates from Lubbock are Samuel J. Brackeen, Mary Castillo, Joseph Matthew Collins, Justin D. Edwards, Manuel A. Flores, Demetreia Hearn, Reynaldo Hernandez, Jose Juarez, Nicholas Medina, Terra Pack, Russell A. Scarborough, Tramarick Smitherman, and John P. Splichal.

Graduates from Levelland are Jose R. Galindo and April Gavina. Area graduates are Jeremy Carter of New Deal, Hector Fiscal of New Home, Michelle Garcia of Odessa, Brenda Hassell of Abernathy, Sandra Marquez of Plainview, Luke Smith of Plains, and Robert G. Worsham of Midland.

Out of state graduates are Robert Barlow of Tooele, Utah and Jonathan Sullivan of La Habra, California.

The 16-week curriculum meets the requirements of the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, including coursework in law, driving, shooting, and other tactical skills.

Program graduates are eligible to take the state examination to become a Texas Peace Officer.
