Over 500 supporters turned out Saturday for South Plains College’s 14th Annual Scholarship Gala. More than $150,000 was raised in scholarship funds for future SPC students. Attendees were served a four-course meal and bid in a silent auction which netted a little over $60,000 for the college. Almost 60 businesses and individuals donated to the auction, while another 73 acted as benefactors for the evening.

Dr. Kelvin Sharp, president of South Plains College, said “The success of the gala highlights the overwhelming generosity of this community, our friends and our alumni and the support they have for South Plains College. We are so very appreciative of everyone who helped make the gala a record-breaking success.”
