As a result, traffic will be delayed and diverted through Thursday.

When Will the Roads Open Again?

Repair is expected to begin both Wednesday and Thursday just after the morning rush hour on both days. During this time, the flyover will be closed to traffic to allow the crews to have the space needed to complete the work safely and efficiently.

According to the release, "drivers can use the cloverleaf ramp to the I-27 frontage road or use the 82nd Street turnaround to connect with northbound I-27."

The inside lane heading eastbound on Loop 289 will also be closed during repair.

The good news for drivers is that the flyover is expected to be open following afternoon rush hour, as long as weather and progress permits.
