One such example happens to be U.S. 60 in the Panhandle. This $44 million project began on March 9 and is a part of large scale efforts to improve the safety of travelers between Tierra Blanca Creek and Progressive Road.
Major upgrades that the people of Hereford can expect to see once this project is finished are a fully replaced roadway surface, ADA improvements to sidewalks, and upgraded storm sewer and drainage systems.

The U.S. 60 project is set to finish its construction by the end of 2029. Lane closures can be expected until then for drivers on various lanes and reduced speed through work zones.
Other Texas Road Construction Projects
In addition to the safety improvements in Hereford, a massive $888 million transformation project has officially broken ground in March along I-30 in Dallas.

I-30 will be widened from six lanes to 12 between the I-35 and I-45 interchanges as they seek to improve city travel and pedestrian safety. Construction on I-30 is set to end in 2031.
Finally, in Houston, the $128.2 million project aimed at widening FM 1960 is just about wrapped up. The goal of easing congestion by expanding from four lanes to six is going swimmingly, according to TxDOT.
