House Speaker Nancy Pelosi last week embraced the idea of lowering the nations voting age to 16. According to The Hill, Pelosi said lowering the voting age would drive interest among young people.

"I myself have always been for lowering the voting age to 16," Pelosi said. "I think it's really important to capture kids when they're in high school, when they're interested in all of this, when they're learning about government, to be able to vote."

Not everyone agrees with Pelosi on lowering the voting age and it probably won't happen anytime soon. Still, it's a debate many are engaging in.

What do you think? Should the voting age be lowered to 16? Let us know in today's poll question.
