
Plainview Police Arrest Woman for Smuggling Nine People, Including a Minor

The Plainview Police Department arrested a woman on Friday, November 11th for allegedly smuggling a minor.
Plainview Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle who's front passenger wasn't wearing a seatbelt. During the stop, the officer found eight other individuals in the vehicle.
The driver, identified as Aneyira Nava, had a Consular Identification Card but nothing else. Everyone in the vehicle, except two, had Mexico Consular Identification.
Officers learned that all of the occupants of the vehicle arrived in the United States at the U.S.-Mexico border in Arizona on Friday, November 5th. Nava told authorities that she was paid to take all the passengers from Arizona to Dallas for work, one of the them being a 17 year-old.
Nava was arrested and charged with smuggling a person under the age of 18, a second-degree felony, then booked into the Hale County Jail.
All other occupants of the vehicle were released without charges.
