The Plainview Police Department arrested four individuals after a brief vehicle and foot chase following an aggravated robbery at a Plainview Inn.

On Thursday, November 18th, officers responded at approximately 7:30 a.m., to the robbery call at the Budget Inn, located at 2001 West 5th Street.

Upon arrival, authorities talked with the victim, who said three men and one woman broke into his room. The victim claims the suspects allegedly used a shotgun to assault him, sustaining minor injuries. The suspects stole a cell phone and other personal items in the room and left the scene.

The victim was able to give officers a description of the suspects as well as their vehicle and it was located shortly after at Happy Stop convenience store, located at West 5th Street and Joliet Street.

The suspects led police on a brief vehicle chase that ended in an alley between Southeast 7th and Southeast 8th. Two of the suspects then ran on foot while the others remained at the vehicle.

The two suspects who remained at the vehicle were identified as 44 year-old Gabriel G. Martinez and 44 year-old Edward Ewing. They were both arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.

Officers found the remaining two suspects in an attic of a nearby residence after the homeowner reported them to authorities. They were identified as 30 year-old Ricardo Bernal and 25 year-old Lydia Sheppa.

Bernal was charged with aggravated robbery and burglary of a habitation. Sheppa was charged with aggravated robbery and criminal trespass of a habitation.
