Plainview Homeowner Detains Burglar Before Police Arrive
On Saturday, June 26th, 2021, a homeowner in Plainview, Texas managed to detain a burglar before police even arrived.
The City of Plainview Police Department received the call regarding an intruder inside of a home in the 1300 block of Quincy Street. This call came in at roughly 3:50 a.m.
A report from Plainview Police says that the victim, who hasn't been publicly identified, had called police the day before (June 25th) because someone had broken into his home and stolen multiple items. The day after, the victim woke up and checked his home surveillance system, only to find that the suspect from the night before was back inside of his home.
The suspect, Krystofer Aaron Woods, was found detained when officers arrived at the scene. He was located with minor lacerations on his body, which were said to have been obtained as he was trying to escape through a bedroom window earlier.
Woods was treated at the scene and later transported to the Hale County Sheriff's Office where he was charged with burglary of a habitation.
A follow-up investigation by Plainview Police Department led detectives to two separate locations in the city, where some of the stolen property was located.
The Police Department expressed their thanks to the homeowner for his help in apprehending Woods, who they called a known burglary suspect.
