Man Guilty of 2021 Lubbock Armed Robbery Sentenced to Prison
A man arrested back in 2021 for robbery has been sentenced to serve some time in prison. Back on August 29, 2021 the Lubbock Police Department was dispatched to the 1600 block of 59th Street after reports of a robbery.
The robbery occurred at an apartment and the female victim states that Willie Cox Jr. and 30-year-old Ladasma Shedd kicked the door down asking for the whereabouts of the person that lived there. The victim did tell both suspects that the previous tenant no longer lived there as they held her at gunpoint and asked her to pick one of her children that would be shot. Both suspects eventually fled from the residence and no injuries were reported.
KAMC news reports that Shedd was involved in another robbery that next day in the 4600 block of 34th Street at the Ace Cash Express just after 2 p.m.. Shedd and another suspect held the store employee at gunpoint before firing the weapon inside the store and fleeing the scene. The employee did hide at the time of the robbery and there seemed to be no reported injuries.
Shedd did plead guilty to Burglary of Habitation with Intent to Commit a Felony and Aggravated Robbery. Shedd was sentenced to serve 18 years in prison but will receive jail time credit for the 790 days already spent in jail prior to his sentencing.
