March of Dimes Fundraiser Shine On to Host Tasty Fundraiser [Audio]

Wednesday on Lubbock's First News, Ashley Harter with the March of Dimes talked about the "Shine On" fundraising effort to take place this month.

The fundraiser will celebrate March of Dimes' 75th anniversary with the 15th annual Signature Chefs Auction. Harter described the event as "used to help promote that prematurity is so rampant across the country and in Texas... We are trying to get out the word and raise money for research and education for prematurity."

The event will feature many local signature chefs who have donated samples or packages to be bid on in an auction. It will be an evening of food and drink in cocktail fashion. Descriptions of a chef to be featured will be posted daily until the fundraiser on the March of Dimes Lubbock Facebook page. The event will take place on October 24 at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Because tables were added to the event to increase seating after being sold out, tickets are $150 each and can be obtained, while they last, by calling 806-797-6771.
