Lubbock police are investigating an alleged stabbing that took place Thursday, Dec. 19. The case involves two men who have not been identified.

Investigators say the stabbing occurred at an apartment complex in the 2100 block of 50th Street. Two men got into a fight that ended with one of them being stabbed near the armpit.

Police have reviewed surveillance footage of the incident and have named the man who was stabbed as the aggressor in the fight, and the man who stabbed him as the victim. Police say during the fight the victim took a knife from the suspect’s waist band to defend himself.

The suspect was treated for his injuries at the Grace Clinic at 50th and University and later transferred to UMC. Police say he may face charges and are still investigating the incident.
