Twenty-five-year-old Michael Tyler Thompson was sentenced on Monday to 15 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to setting fire to a Central Lubbock home in November 2017.

According to KAMC News, Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to the fire in the 4900 block of 62nd Street. A dog was found inside the home and was rescued. No injuries were reported.

Officials say security camera footage showed Thompson approaching the area where the fire was started, then fleeing.

Thompson's attorney made a written motion to consider community service instead of prison time.
