A Lubbock man has been arrested and accused of shooting his wife.

A police report states that on Monday, June 1st, 2020, gunshots were reported in the 1700 block of 18th Street.

When police arrived, they found a woman with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. She was then taken to University Medical Center for treatment.

The woman’s husband, 30-year-old William Bernard Landry, told police that he was cleaning his gun when it went off by accident. But police apparently found multiple shell casings inside the home and other evidence that suggested Landry was lying.

Landry was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and deadly conduct, and remains in the Lubbock County Detention Center on a $200,000 bond.
