Lubbock Has A Dog Poop Problem, And Citizens Are Getting Fed Up
Have you ever walked around a local park in Lubbock, enjoying the day, and then accidentally step in something that you just know isn't going to come off easily? What about in your own yard?
The other day I was walking around one of our nice parks in Lubbock and saw several areas that dogs had decided were great areas to poop at. And apparently, I'm not the only one. Citizens have taken to Nextdoor in the past day or so to complain about dog poop in the parks and yes, even in their yards.
Pick Up Your Dog's Poop
We all know it's good to take your dog for a walk. It's good for them and healthy for you. But when taking your dog for a walk, you have a responsibility as a dog owner and just as a good, decent, citizen, to clean up after your dog. Sure, no one likes to carry around a bag of poop, but that's part of the job if you are going to take your dog out. It's also being a good neighbor. It's not like your neighbors want dog poop in their yard. Just pick it up and do the right thing.
Lubbock Parks Too, Even Dog Parks
The rules of picking up after your dog extend to both human and dog parks as well. Just because you are on City of Lubbock property doesn't mean you can just leave your dog's gifts behind. In fact, you can be fined by the City of Lubbock for doing so. And in a dog park, there is just no excuse. There are bags and trash bins all around.
Let's be good citizens and dog owners and clean up after your dog. It's the right thing to do, and it will stop the spread of diseases.
