Good News! Lubbock’s New Splash Pads Will Open Soon

Good news for kids and families who want to splash around this Summer. We now know when the all new splash pads in Lubbock will open.

After years of planning and building, three splash pad locations will be opening during the middle of the Summer here in Lubbock. Back in 2022, the Lubbock City Council voted to replace some Lubbock pools with splash pads. The council used around $5 million dollars to build the splash pads.

When Will The Splash Pads Open in Lubbock?

According to a press release on Tuesday, the Parks and Recreation Department will hold a grand opening ceremony at all three splash pads on Monday, July 8.

Each location will feature colorful ground sprays, water arches, spray loops and other interactive water elements according to the City of Lubbock. All splash pad locations will also have covered picnic areas as well as covered seating, and restrooms.

Splash Pads in Lubbock will be open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00am through 8:00 pm. and Monday's Noon-8:00 pm.

Where Are Lubbock's Splash Pads Located?

Lubbock will have 3 Splash Pad Locations.

1. Rodgers Splash Pad: 3200 Bates Street

2. Mae Simmons Splash Pad: 1301 E. 24th Street

3. Maxey Splash Pad: 4020 30th Street

Splash Pad Grand Opening

Below are the details for the Grand Opening times and locations.

The Rodgers Splash Pad Grand Opening will start at 10am. The Mae Simmons Grand Opening at 1pm, and the Maxey Grand Opening at 3pm, all on July 8th.

According to the City of Lubbock, each grand opening event will include a ribbon cutting and activities for kids.
