Lubbock's First News with Tom Collins and Laura Mac presented Bailey Scarborough with a check for $130 made out to Brian Ratcliffe, plus a hammock with a stand.

Ratcliffe, Scarborough's boyfriend, received a citation back in February for hanging a hammock from two trees at Tech Terrace. Bailey noted that the hammock belonged to her, it was her idea and she was the one to hang the hammock from the trees.

"It's people like you that make me love this city," Scarborough said of Tom Walters, who wrote the check for Ratcliffe. "The people here are really endearing."

Since the incident, the city has begun placing signs and poles specifically for slacklining and hanging hammocks.

Listen to the entire interview with Bailey Scarborough and see her reaction when she receives the check and hammock in the video above.
