On Monday, a district judge dismissed the lawsuit filed by a former Lubbock County Medical Examiner's Office employee.

The lawsuit was filed back in February by Senee Graves against NAAG Pathology Labs, Dr. Sam Andrews and Dr. Evan Matshes for around $1 million.

The Lubbock County Medical Examiner was accused of unnecessarily taking body parts and shipping them to NAAG for research purposes, according to KAMC News.

A news release that was sent to KAMC from a PR firm representing NAAG said that the plaintiffs failed to provide clear and specific evidence for each essential element of their claims.

Dr. Evan Matshes said:

Today’s court ruling reinforces and supports the statements we have made regarding this case and the controversy that it has generated throughout the community. Neither Dr. Sam Andrews nor I are engaged in any type of research and have worked diligently to make sure that our autopsies meet the highest standards.

He later went on to say "We hope today's decision will be the first of many that will end this controversy."
