I know y'all are tired of hearing about Bart Reagor, but this technically isn't about him. Right now we're talking about his wife, Annette Reagor.

Mrs. Reagor is asking for at least $2.3 million and up to $22.3 million in damages from FirstCapital Bank of Texas.

KAMC News reports that according to Mrs. Reagor's lawsuit, she claims that FirstCapital defrauded the couple. The Reagors apparently pledged $2.3 million in assets to the bank back in August 2018, right when the Reagor-Dykes Auto Group went bankrupt, for financing. However, they claim that the promise of refinancing was false.

On top of the false refinancing promise, the lawsuit also claims FirstCapital worked with Shane Smith, the former Reagor-Dykes CFO who was later sentenced to 7 years in prison for fraud, to specifically defraud the Reagors. It's alleged the bank knew of Smith's check-kiting scheme, and if they had just stopped honoring overdrawn checks the scheme would have collapsed and the Reagors would have been "saved" and never caught up in this mess.

A spokesperson with FirstCapital says the claims are completely without merit, and my gut has to agree. Of course, I don't know the nitty-gritty of every little aspect of what went down almost four years ago, but come on.

To me, it seems like blame is yet again being shifted to anywhere but the Reagors themselves. This isn't surprising, but it is exhausting.

By the way, y'all remember Bart's request to stay out of prison while his appeal went through the Fifth Circuit? His worries about jail interrupting his "complicated treatment regimen" for his Parkinson's disease? Yeah, a judge denied that. Whoopsie.
