NAAG Pathology Labs, the company that used to administer the office of the Lubbock County Medical Examiner, has made an agreement with Lubbock County on finishing 172 open death cases.
NAAG Pathology labs has issued a public statement concerning the withdrawal as the company overseeing the office of the Lubbock County Medical Examiner.
The Lubbock County Commissioners court is holding a special meeting on Monday, October 7th, and during that meeting, commissioners are scheduled to accept the resignation of Chief Medical Examiner of Lubbock County Dr. Sam Andrews.
"He's very excited about it. We're happy for him. He will definitely be missed. He's a great representative, great ambassador for the city of Lubbock, great ambassador for the police department. He's done an excellent job," Chadis said.
NAAG Pathology Labs said in a letter sent to Lubbock County Judge Curtis Parrish on Tuesday that they will not renew their contract with Lubbock County.
