Kendrick Meals Arrested For Assault at Lubbock Day Care, Assaulting Officers

A Lubbock man was arrested Monday evening after reportedly assaulting some daycare workers.

Lubbock police were called to a civil disturbance at “A New World Christian Learning Center” at 1912 19^th Street around 6 p.m. Monday.

Kendrick Meals is believed to have assaulted some workers at the daycare prior to the arrival of officers and had reportedly broken out some glass on the front door.

Patrons at a gym across 19^th Street tried to intervene prior to the arrival of police, but were unable to stop 19-year-old Kendrick Meals.

Meals reportedly attacked officers when they arrived, and physical force had to be used to get the subject under control.

Meals was arrested and taken to University Medical Center for evaluation.

He is charged with two counts of assault on a peace officer, domestic assault, assault, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, and an outstanding warrant.
