Keenan Evans Takes Home 3rd Big 12 Player of the Week
If you've kept up with the Texas Tech men's basketball team this season, then you know how much Keenan Evans has meant to this team. He is everything a senior leader should be, and his play has not gone unnoticed this season.
For the third time this year, Evans was the recipient of the Big 12 Player of the Week.
In both comeback wins over Oklahoma State and South Carolina, Evans was key down the stretch, scoring 43 of his 57 points this week in the second half. Evans shot 56 percent from the floor, was 7-for-10 from three-point range and was absolutely deadly from the free throw line, connecting on 22 of his 25 free throws.
Evans averaged 28.5 points, 4.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds this past week en route to his third Player of the Week award this season. He joins Andre Emmett as the only Texas Tech players to win the Big 12 Player of the Week accolade three different times in a season.
Next up for Keenan Evans and the Red Raiders is a home matchup against the the other Big 12 Player of the Week, Mohamed Bamba, and the Texas Longhorns. That game is set for Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. at the United Supermarkets Arena and will be broadcast by ESPNU.
