‘Hey, It’s Good for the Good of the People’ – Chad Hasty On Seattle’s New Sugar Tax [VIDEO]
On Thursday's edition of The Chad Hasty Show, the new tax being imposed by the city of Seattle, Washington on the sale of drinks containing sugar came up in Chad's extensive list of hot topics.
The new tax places an additional tax of 1.75 cent per ounce on drinks that contain sugar, all with the intentions of improving the health of citizens.
As an example of the price increases being brought about because of the tax, the price of Gatorade variety pack at a Seattle Costco, previously sold at $15.99, rose to $26.33 after the new $10.34 sugar tax.
"Hey, it's for the good of the people," Hasty said.
