A Lubbock man pleaded guilty to murder and accepted a 20 year prison sentence on Wednesday, July 1st.

22-year-old Prince Tariq Richards was arrested in November of 2017 for the murder of Peter Caballero.

KAMC News reports that Richards and other unidentified people had arranged to buy a Gucci belt and a small quantity of marijuana from someone. They met near 98th Street and Avenue V.

The man met with Richards and the others and got into a car with them, and that's when a man with Richards pointed a gun at the seller.

After having the belt, marijuana and his cell phone stolen, the man met up with Caballero and others at 98th and V. After explaining what happened, they all ran after the car. Later, the car they were chasing came back, and that's when Caballero was shot.

Caballero was transported to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
