Greg Abbott Elected Governor of Texas
KFYO is projecting that Attorney General Greg Abbott has been elected Governor of Texas.
Abbott received 58 percent of the vote as of 8:31 p.m. CST. His democratic opponent Wendy Davis received 40 percent.
Abbott recently visited Lubbock to campaign with fellow republican Dan Patrick. During his speech, he hit Wendy Davis hard on her ties to Barack Obama.
"Barack Obama himself, and his policies, and his team are on the ballot this election cycle right here in the state of Texas because my opponent’s campaign is being run by Barack Obama operatives," he said.
