The federal government is suing and attacking the State of Texas and Governor Greg Abbott over the border protection plan the Governor has put into place, including the buoy system in the Rio Grande.

On Thursday, Texas House Republicans, led by Congressman Jody Arrington held a press conference announcing their support of Abbott and the state of Texas. The members of Congress encouraged Abbott to continue to use his sovereign power to defend Texas along the southern border.

Arrington said that Abbott was doing what was "right and necessary".

“I commend Governor Abbott for taking on the responsibility that this President has abdicated by stopping the chaos, securing the border, and protecting our citizens. I also encourage the Governor stay the course, stand his ground, and continue to defend the great state of Texas.” said Rep. Arrington. “What Governor Abbott is doing is right and necessary, and completely within his constitutional power and authority.”

Congressman Chip Roy said he also supports what Governor Abbott is doing and would like to see Texas paid back for the security it has provided.

Rep. Chip Roy said, "we're going have to decide, as Texans what we're going to do about [the border crisis]. And I just want to be 100% clear, I stand behind Governor Abbott being as aggressive as he needs to be to defend the people of Texas, period, full stop."
