Governor Perry to Undergo Surgery Friday

Governor Rick Perry will undergo an operation tomorrow morning to repair an old bicycling injury. The 90 minute procedure will repair his right clavicle, which was injured in 2009.

The operation will be performed by Dr. Bruce Malone. It requires one three inch incision at the contoured plate. Lt. Governor David Dewhurst has been notified of the surgery and will assume Governor Perry’s duties if he is temporarily unable to serve.
