Jakeem Grant joined the Miami Dolphins in 2016 and played with the team until he was traded to the Chicago Bears in 2021. Grant has since moved on to Cleveland to play for the Browns, but there's a new Texas Tech wide receiver in Miami.

The Dolphins have selected Erik Ezukanma as pick number 125 in the NFL Draft. You can see Filipe Luis announce the pick live from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil below:

Pick 125 is just two picks away from the 123rd pick that the Philadelphia Eagles used on Zech McPhearson in 2021. Texas Tech has now had a player drafted in every NFL Draft since 2016. The Red Raiders had a 12-year streak from 1996 to 2007, and a 21-year streak from 1972 to 1992.

As always, Texas Tech Football congratulated their guy on his big move.

The Dolphins have a pretty good history of drafting Red Raiders. They picked up Jakeem Grant in the 6th round of 2016's draft. Twenty years before that they drafted Zach Thomas in the 5th round. Thomas had a long and successful career for the Dolphins. The first-ever Texas Tech player to be drafted by the Dolphins was Andre Tillman back in 1974.

Ezukanma's fit in Miami will allow him to sit behind guys like Tyreek Hill and Jaylon Waddle while getting acclimated to the NFL. He can also be a deep threat for the Dolphins as the biggest receiver now on the roster. Ezukanma has a serious burst and was nearly impossible to tackle in his final season at Texas Tech.

I'm really excited for his NFL future.

5 Things That Should Excite You About Zach Kittley's Texas Tech Offense

Zach Kittley returns home to Lubbock and Texas Tech as the chosen one to bring back an electric offense to the Hub City that hasn't been seen since Kliff Kingsbury was roaming the sidelines. Can he do it? I believe he can, but I don't think the offense will resemble what he was putting out at Western Kentucky in year one at Texas Tech. Here are 5 things that excite me about Kittley's potential as the Red Raiders' offensive coordinator.
