Texas Tech Football Jumps Up Higher In the College Football Playoff Rankings
Another big win for Texas Tech and a big loss by Alabama last week combined for some great news for the Texas Tech Football team this week as they moved up in the College Football Playoff Rankings.
Texas Tech Football a Top 5 Team
The Texas Tech Red Raider Football program moved up one spot in the College Football Playoff Rankings this week. This comes after Texas Tech defeated UCF at Jones AT&T Stadium and after the Oklahoma Sooners pulled the upset on then #4 Alabama.
Texas Tech now sits at #5 in the College Football Playoff Rankings. Ahead of Texas Tech is Ohio State at #1, Indiana at #2, Texas A&M at #3, and Georgia at #4.
Texas Tech has a bye this week and plays West Virginia on November 29th. If Texas Tech were to win against West Virginia and win the Big 12 title, it's possible they would have a first round bye in the College Football Playoffs. As it stands round now, Texas Tech would host Tulane, the highest group of 5 seeded school, in the first round. The winner of that game, would face Georgia. But first things first of course and that is to win the next game and get into the Big 12 Championship game.
